Yes, you read that correctly! Make porn part of sex education, says West Coast Sex Therapy Director Dr. Jason Winters.
“If you have kids who have had no real education about what a relationship looks like… once they start watching pornography… they’re going to make assumptions about what sex is going to look like later,” says Dr. Winters for an interview with CBC.
How can this gap be addressed? Dr. Winters says starting sex ed early by talking about sex in a way that doesn’t involve embarrassment and shame can help kids form healthy views on sexuality.
